Domain names

I am asked to provide a domain name. Whatever I do the name I supply is rejected. Why? Should I delete the one I can’t use, my blog URL) for some reason which is ken7w.wordpress.com. I am getting sick of this!

To my right a sign appears and disappears viz: Suggestions As you type, links that we think may help you resolve your problem quickly will show up here . . . Oh yeah! NOTHING DOES SHOW UP. Consequently I think this is your problem, not mine. What do you think?
    Blog url: http://ken7w.wordpress.com/

To change a blog URL ending in wordpress.com, please follow these steps. Another alternative is to purchase a custom domain name to take “wordpress” out of the domain altogether.

Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?

No. The entire process is new to me. I am merely trying to follow wordpress instructions, but they are impossible to follow. They can’t rectify their own prompts or clarify them so they send me here. Thanks for attempting to help.

I’m happy to help you sort this out. Could you please walk me through the exact steps you’re taking, and what errors (if any) you’re receiving?

Thank you again. I followed your advice and eliminated WordPress. By doing so, and after a few attempts with various combinations, I managed to get myself a domain name.
But now I am having trouble finding my own posts on Dashboard. My early attempts failed when ‘Dasboard’ showed only one post (Ihave 78). Finally, after a lot frustration I found the ‘real’ dashboard with my 78 posts – but why and how can this sort of nonsense happen? I can hardly bare the thought of having the same difficulty recur!
