  Can I set up an Australian domain name from WordPress? I know I have the option of .com, .net, .org etc but I want to use com.au. Is this possible from here?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I am not sure about the registration here – but you can use the com.au but you need to have the staff add a zone record to the blog you want to map to.

  buy the domain from other registrant and use domain upgrade from wordpress.com

  Yes, we can only register US domains, like .com, .net, .org, etc.

  However, you can register a .com.au elsewhere and map it following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

  There is a slight change that your domain registrar will require a zone record before changing the nameservers. If that happens, please contact us: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
