Domain names in general

  In selecting a domain name, the ones I am interested in using do not SPECIFICALLY mention that I do organic landscape care. Wondering, can I effectively add text that will assist in getting me indexed for targeting the organic crowd, and how easy is it to do this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The top level domain here is wordpress.com and all our blogs are on .wordpress.com subdomains. So are you referring to the subdomain URL you have now? Or are you planning to purchase your own domain name via a domain mapping upgrade? http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

  I am wondering what “metadata” is? Aside from choosing good verbage that includes key words, do you have to highlight them , somehow indicating them? Or, are all words indexed?

  We cannot access metadata on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. This is because they are all on the same multiuser blogging platform and share a common architecture ie. every blog here wearing the same theme is using the same template, so we bloggers cannot edit templates and insert keywords.

  You can only access metadata on WordPress.org install as they are free standing installs.

  I am still not sure what metadata is. Without it though, will my site on the .wordpress.com platform still be indexed and found?

  Yes. In fact the SEO here for free hosted WordPress.com blogs is better than it is on WordPress.org installs.

  You’re welcome. I avoided getting into a long blah, blah, blah on metadata because it’s poi8unetless waste if time. Suffice to say that there will be those who insist that you must get a WordPress.org install and install plugins to improve SEO – HA! just smile sweetly and nod and continue with your wordpress.com blog know that there are some of us who have tested this and moved both directions and we do know whereof we speak.

  It’s a fallacy to believe that meta keyword description tags are required for SEO purposes because they aren’t as Matt Cutts of Google clearly states in the video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jK7IPbnmvVU
