Domain no longer there

  • Unknown's avatar

    When I try to login into my domain it says 503 System Temporarily Unavailable….
    It has said this for the past 6 days. How can I fix this?

    When we try to log into our blog/website, this message(in quotes below) comes up. We renewed our domain name with Dotster in June 2017 and they say everything is good on there end. We just discovered the issue today,August 30, 2016. It has not been an issue before nor has it been since we begin using WordPress. Our domain has not expired and is good till June 17, 2017.

    “newburghseniorcenter.com recently expired! Oh no!
    “Newburgh Senior Center” is not available at the domain newburghseniorcenter.com right now. This domain expired, and it has to be renewed before it is lost.

    We already notified this site’s owners. However, renewing expired domains becomes more costly and complicated as time goes by. We want to make sure they got the message.

    If you know this site’s owners, please get in touch and remind them to renew this domain before it’s too late.”

    I have the same issue

  • @sriley13

    There are no sites in the account that you’re using to post here. Can you please tell me the domain in question?

  • @crm5577

    The domain mapping upgrade connecting that domain to your WordPress.com site expired 7 days ago. To renew that upgrade you’ll need to log in as the username that owns it, jamesfturner

    Let me know if you need more help with this.

    @ariaadmin

    Please don’t post into existing threads if you’ve already created your own. We will reply to you in the other thread you created.

    @kokkieh thanks for the reply. I am helping a business with their website… floydscrossroads.com and apparently they let their domain expire but have since fixed the problem. It is now back up and running. Thanks so much!

    This is CRM5577. Sorry if I am using the wrong “thread” but I cannot decipher from your site any better to get to a customer support person to resolve the issue.

    The username that “owns” our domain, doesn’t own the domain name.

    He was involved when we started but I am now the responsible person. I pay the fees annually, ( and can verify that for you via Dotster e-mail. )

    How can this be resolved ASAP?It is possible for you to talk with me via phone?

    Thank you

    .

  • @sriley13

    Thanks for letting me know.

    @crm5577

    The username that “owns” our domain, doesn’t own the domain name.

    As far as we are concerned the username that bought the upgrade owns it. The only way to move that upgrade to your account is if the current owner requests that we do it. We cannot make any exceptions in this regard.

    However, as that upgrade is already expired and the username in question does not own the site, I’ve removed the expired upgrade from the account, so you can buy a new mapping upgrade using a different admin account on the site.

    Please help me. I cannot figure out how to do what you are telling me to do.

    Dotster communication below. On the phone, they say the problem is with WordPress. See below below.

    Can someone from User support contact me directly so I can be helped and we can get the site for the Newburgh Senior Center back on line?

  • You need to buy a domain mapping upgrade, like you had on the other account.

    Go to My Site ->Domains ->Add ->Map it to add the domain to your site again. The mapping upgrade is what connects your domain to your site on our end. The moment you add that it should be working again, as the name servers are still pointing to us from when the other account had it mapped.

    Use a Domain You Already Own (Domain Mapping)
