Domain not found?
-
Hi,
I have just gotten a new domain for my blog, and it seemed to be working fine, but yesterday when I tried to open my blog, the internet browser said ‘page not found’, whenever I tried the new domain.. Why is that and can someone help me?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like the domain theartoflearningblog.com has not been registered. You can register and associate it with your blog from your domain management screen. https://theartoflearningblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
Important Notes Before Upgrading http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading
All About Domains http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades to purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog. See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
After you do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

I have already registered and associated the domain with my blog, and it appears on my domain management screen as if everything was fine. The screen also shows that the domain is active.
I tried to press the ‘edit domain’ button and edit my domain contact information, but it won’t let me write in the information fields.
Should I try to delete the domain and register it again or why is it acting like it’s not registered?

I just found out that the domain is apparently not pointing to WordPress.com, which is weird, since it should have done that automatically, as I got the domain through WordPress.com.
Any clues on why it does this? Do I need to map it to my blog, as if it was an existing domain that I didn’t get through WordPress?

It was my understanding that when I got the domain through WordPress it would automatically map my new domain to my wordpress.com domain. And it has been working for a week. A few days ago it stopped pointing towards my wordpress blog, but under domain settings it looks like it should be pointing towards it.
How do I fix this? How do I map a .com domain gotten from WordPress to my wordpress blog..?

You buy the domain mapping upgrade http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

I HAVE the domain mapping upgrade, otherwise I couldn’t buy the domain. But it says very clearly that domain mapping is for existing domains NOT registered with WordPress.com – the domain I have is registered with WordPress.com as I bought it through the WordPress. I need to know why my domain is all of a sudden not pointing towards my blog..
If I have to update the name servers, I need to know how to do this?
When I try to do it the way I think it is done, it says that it will change the domain so it no longer points towards WordPress.com…… -

Hi there! The domain “theartoflearningblog.com” appears to not have been registered successfully. Can you kindly try that again by going to Store -> My Domains in your admin panel:
https://theartoflearningblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=domains&action=search_form
Enter “theartoflearningblog.com” and click “Register Domain”.
Please go through all succeeding prompts to complete the registration.
Afterwards, please be sure to set the new domain as your Primary Domain.
Let me know if you run into problems. Thanks!
