Domain Not Mapping – Can’t Connect to Site Error

    Hello

I’ve been trying for a few weeks now to get a domain to point to my blog. The blog is here: wpadeorg.wordpress.com and needs to go here: wpade.org

I bought 10 credits on wordpress, added my domain to wordpress and did the “put blog here” thing. Also changed my domain name servers to point to:

    wpade.org NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
    http://ftp.wpade.org NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    http://www.wpade.org NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

It’s been several weeks since I’ve done this so I don’t think it’s a matter of waiting for the DNS to update.

This seems to be a common problem around here. Anyone have any suggestions?

maybe you need to add a DNS zone for the domain first?

Also changed my domain name servers to point to:

    wpade.org NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
    ftp.wpade.org NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    www.wpade.org NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

If you are trying to get it to work, you need to change your nameservers for the domain wpade.org only to all three entries:

    wpade.org NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    wpade.org NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    wpade.org NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

WordPress.com servers will strip the www anyways and direct all traffic to just wpade.org and it doesn’t need a special entry. As well, there is no FTP on wordpress.com and that is not the correct way to set it up anyways. Your registrar for your domain just has a list of name servers and you need to add all three for the domain. It isn’t one where you add through another host, but your domain registrar.
