domain not showing up correctly

I own a domain (www.littlechickpea.com) and cannot get my wordpress blog (littlechickpeadotcom.wordpress.com) to show up with that URL. I called GoDaddy support (who I bought the domain from) and they told me it was a wordpress issue. Help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To resolve this issue, just go to https://littlechickpeadotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains and update your primary domain to point to littlechickpea.com and you should be all set!

I’ve tried that. If I select littlechickpea.com as my primary, it tells me there is a redirect loop. Currently I have the nameservers for the godaddy domain set to wordpress. Could that be the issue?

Because this is a new domain, there will be a period of time when the domain information needs to update. This is a process called “propagation” and is normal. It should be resolved within 72 hours if not much sooner. Please update your domain and if it isn’t working by Monday afternoon, please let me know.

Okay, so I have littlechickpea.com set as the primary domain. I understand that you said this will take a while to work, but I’ve had this URL for a month and have tried this already and waited it out. It’s been four weeks. I had switched it back to the wordpress site being my primary domain so I could actually see the site recently, and now have again put littlechickpea.com as the primary. I will do as you say and wait 72 hours again.

The current message I’m getting is “This webpage has a redirect loop.” I feel like that has something to do with the fact that I have the nameservers pointing to wordpress, but I’m not sure. I’m new to this.

Before I had set the nameservers to wordpress and they were just the godaddy ones, I had a different issue. When going to littlechickpea.com, I would get a godaddy message telling me that the domain was owned but no content was there yet, which makes sense because my content is on wordpress, not hosted by godaddy. Does that make sense?

I feel like there is something I’m doing wrong but can’t figure it out. Either that, or there is actually some kind of bug on the wordpress / godaddy side that is causing the issue.

In order for this to work, you need all of the following simultaneously:

    1) The name servers set to be WordPress.com:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    2) Domain mapping upgrade in place
    3) Domain set as primary domain

Then domain then propagates over a 72 hour period. The redirect loop error is one of the more common error messages for a domain while it’s updating.

The domain is now working for me. Please give it a little more time and it should be working for you as well. You can check by clearing your cache and then reloading the page:
