Domain not transferred

    I’ve paid for my domain transfer however it didn’t go ahead for some reason. I’ve got another authorisation code form godaddy.com, how do I transfer my domain?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    I did cancel the plan I just wanted to use the free WordPress while I get started. Is that still possible?

    I will remove the domain privacy and try to transfer again.

    You can absolutely use your custom domain with your WordPress.com site with or without a paid plan. You don’t need to buy a paid plan to have a custom domain here. You only need to upgrade to a paid plan if you need the features of that plan.

    One of the features of all of our paid plans is to allow users to set their custom domain as primary. If your custom domain is not primary, people will still end up at your site if they type your custom domain into the address bar.

    I have my authorisation code from GoDaddy now. I’m having trouble finding where to enter the code as the previous link sent isn’t working. Are you able to assist with this?

  • Once you have the authorization code, you’ll want to start the transfer on the WordPress.com side. Here you’ll find full instructions:

    I followed the steps and I have been charged £15 again to transfer.

    Please can I get the second payment refunded?

  • I’ve refunded the second payment. Refunds usually take 5-10 business days to appear on your statement, but in some cases, you will not see a separate refund listed on your account, but the original charge will be removed instead.

    I’ve also closed the ticket you opened about this issue. I hope that helps :)
