  Hi staff-dragon, I bought a domain today from BIG Rock and connected it to WordPress but it throws an error “DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN” but shows status as active in WordPress

  Hi! Your domain appears to be working here, if I try to visit as a new visitor. It sounds like your computer, or even your internet connection, may not yet detect that it is working.

  Could you test the following:

  1. Clear your browser cache: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
  2. See if you can use a different device and internet connection to visit http://youutubenews.com/ (for example: a smartphone with the WiFi inactive so it only uses mobile data)
  3. Clearing your DNS cache: https://en.support.wordpress.com/how-to-clear-the-dns-cache/

  Hi @staff-95percentghost: I tried flushing out the dns and tried visiting the site from different devices but the error is the same. On my mobile it says “Server IP Address could not be found”.

  Hey there,

  May I double check the domain being visited on the mobile device please?

  The reason why I ask is because the domain being used here at WordPress.com is youutubenews.com – so I’m wondering if there’s a grammatical error happening here.

  Hi @aleone89: thank you for your reply. Just connected via vpn and it worked but when I connect it via my laptop or phone it does not work. But when I connect it from my friends phone using same ip ( same isp) it starts working and it does not work for my 3rd friend using same isp.

  Since it works for one of your friends but not another, even if they are using the same ISP too, it does sound like this might be an issue relating to either the ISP itself, or potentially your router (although this seems unlikely). You mentioned it worked when you connected via VPN too. Would you have any chance to try from a different internet connection altogether?

  Hi @staff-95percentghost – I checked it on my mobile with a different internet connection but when I switch back to old connection it does not work. Any solutions here?

  This means that this is most likely an issue with your internet provider. I recommend contacting them and reporting the error message to their support team. They’ll be able to tell why your domain and your WordPress.com site aren’t loading through them.
