Domain not working and can't map

Hi,
I bought a domain on wordpress.com last thursday. I also paid for the domain mapping and privacy registration while creating an account and starting a blog on the website. I don’t think the domain that I bought is working. Also when I try to change my wordpress.com domain to the new one, it says I need to buy it again.
Do I absolutely need to have the premium package to use my own domain instead of the wordpress.com domain? I couldn’t find this information on the web. Right now I am using the free plan.
I am confused. I tried to find a phone number to call you, but I only found this forum.

It appears that domain registration somehow failed. This should not have happened and I apologize for the hassle.
However, the good news is that the domain is still available for registration. Furthermore, due to the previous failed registration, your account has credits applied to it and you will not be charged again.
Can you please try registering that domain again?

It is now working. I did use the credit and I was also able to make it my main domain.

Hi, I seem to have the same problem as well. I’ve reported it but I haven’t received a response which is why I’m writing my complaint in this forum. Is there a way to get this problem fixed? My blog is towanderorgetlust.wordpress.com.
