Domain – Off Site DNS

  Hi, i bought a domain through Godaddy to connect it to my wordpress site but then I noticed wordpress charges a extra fee to connect the domain to the site. So i deleted the domain from my godaddy account to then buy it through wordpress but apparently it takes up to 3 months to become available again. My godaddy support guy said I can add the domain back to my account and just connect it to my wordpress site through off site DNS… is that possible? If so, how do I do that

  If you restore your domain at GoDaddy you can map it to a WordPress.com site. Buying a domain here or transferring a domain or mapping a domain all entail the purchase of a WordPress.com Personal plan or higher.
