Domain on external hosting but website in WordPress.com

    I have a domain that I would like to host my new website on. The website has been built directly on WordPress.com how can I get the website to appear on the externally hosted domain from WordPress.com

    Hi there!

    I see that you already added a domain connection for hicksmotandservicecentre.co.uk. If this is the correct domain you wish to use with your WordPress.com site, you have two more steps remaining:

    1. Point the domain to WordPress.com.
    2. Set it as the primary address.

    You can point the domain to WordPress.com in one of two ways:

    a. Use the WordPress.com nameservers.

    The WordPress.com nameservers are:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

    You can contact your domain registrar and ask them to do this for you or you can do it yourself from the domain registrar’s website. The domain registrar is the company where you registered the domain.

    It may take up to 72 hours for the nameserver change to take effect after they have been updated.

    Please note: If you have active email services connected to the domain, you’ll need to add the email service’s DNS records on our end before you change the domain’s nameservers. Please let us know if you have email services connected to hicksmotandservicecentre.co.uk.

    so If I do option A does this mean I can keep the hosting with the external company and the website will appear as

    http://hicksmotandservicecentre.co.uk rather than http://hicksmotandservicecentre.wpcomstaging.com/
