Domain owned by me but in use else where until new site built

  Hello, I built a website a few years ago using weebly purchasing my domain through godaddy. I would like to build a wordpress site and when done bring over the domain. When I start to create I cant get past the choose a domain portion. Can I build and add domain latter.

  Yes, you can build the site now, on a free site address and connect the domain later.

  To add a free site address to the account, go to My Sites – Domains – Add and choose the free .wordpress.com option that populates.

  You might consider making the site private until it’s ready for launch. That’s an easy setting adjustment: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  When you’re ready to connect the domain and launch the site you’ll need to connect the domain. That can be achieved through mapping or a domain transfer.
