Domain ownership on cancelled premium package

I recently cancelled my premium package, for which I registered a domain name. Now, I don’t see the domain in my wordpress settings (of course) but I also can’t register the domain through another domain registrar, because it is currently registered by ‘WILD WEST DOMAINS’, with name servers pointing to WordPress.com, and doesn’t expire until June 29, 2017.
How can I get this domain transferred / purchase this domain?

Hi there,
When you cancel a domain it takes several weeks before the registrar releases it, and that’s only if they don’t sell it to someone else at auction first. If you want to keep using a domain it’s safer to not cancel it, but just map/transfer it to the host you want to use.
I’ve emailed our registrar to try and undo the cancellation. Please note that in some cases there can be an additional $80 fee to do this, but if our registrar requires that I’ll let you know.
