Domain Parked!!

  I made the mistake of using wordpress.com rather than .org I already have my domain purchased through hostgator and it seems it was registered with Automattic. I get a page saying domain parked with Automattic. I need help transferring my domain to hostgator. This is really frustrating and can’t contact anyone at wordpress to assist me with this!

  Please help!

  I cancelled my subscription with wordpress.com… Will that fix this issue?

  Just to be clear, socialconnectionsaz.wordpress.com is a free website which has been deleted and not a custom domain. A subdomain of WordPressdotcom cannot be transferred to any other web hosting provider.

  To be honest I’m pretty confused with what’s going on with my domain.

  The domain I purchased and was registered with automattic is

  SocialConnectionsaz.com

  Hi there,

  Cancelled domains are not released immediately and can take anything from a few days to more than a year before the domain is available again. You should never cancel a domain if you still want to use it, as there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to register the domain again at a later stage.

  In this case, you cancelled your domain more than 5 days after registration, and that domain won’t be released until after it’s expiration date in June next year.

  The good news is I can still restore the domain to your account, and then I can help you point it to Hostgator. Once you’ve owned it for 60 days, you’ll be able to transfer it to them completely.

  Please confirm if you want to do this, and I’ll send you a link to pay for the domain again, as I see your original payment has been refunded already.

  I see you have since also opened an email ticket and my colleague has already sent you a payment link there. Once we receive your payment we’ll be able to restore the domain.

  We’ll also need a site in your account to which we can connect the domain. Otherwise there will be no way to set the name servers or access the transfer settings. You can create a new site via this link:
