Domain parked after a refund

    Hello,

    I paid for a website plan and a domain yesterday; however, since I couldn’t figure out how to use themes, I decided to cancel them. The problem is that now the domain I’ve chosen is parked, and I really would like to use it again in the near future. Could you help me release it, please ?

    Things don’t happen instantly regarding releasing domains (or getting replies on this forum). The domain will be released in a few days…possibly 5 days not counting the weekend so you’ll need to keep checking. If you had wanted to use the domain in future elsewhere then you didn’t need to cancel it. You could have retained ownership here and pointed it somewhere else. Did you want to do that? Staff may still be able to recover your domain.
    Note that here at WordPress.com building a site is about as easy as it ever gets. Figuring out themes elsewhere won’t necessarily be easier.

    Hey there,

    As @themagicrobot mentioned, you canceled the domain within 5 days of registering it, so it should be available again soon. Once a domain name is deleted by the registry at this stage, it is immediately available for registration by any registrant through any Registrar, and that happens shortly after the 5-day grace period.

    We can immediately restore the domain for you within that 5-day period, but after that, we no longer have control over it. So, depending on where you want to register the domain (with us or elsewhere), you should decide ASAP on how you want it re-registered.

    You can always point the domain over to your host from WordPress.com until the 60-day transfer lock is lifted (where you can transfer the domain anywhere you please). That will at least guarantee you will get it back without any potential complications. Let me know.

    @themagicrobot Yeah, well… Though it’s pricier, Wix is a lot smoothier to use – at least for someone that doesn’t have any clue about website building.

    Anyway, thank you for your replies. I’ll wait five days and registrate it again through another host.
