Domain parking. How can I use it?

    Hi.

    I bought my personal domain yes-jinu.com for $18 on July 2nd, 2019 via wordpress.com

    Then, I just changed my mind to make my own website via wordpress.org

    I want to use my domain yes-jinu.com but I just don’t know if I can use this domain outside of wordpress.com

    I don’t want to make another domain via another domain hosting service and charge twice.

    How can I use my domain(yes-jinu.com) with another service(not wordpress.com)?

    Hi there,

    You bought the domain, yes-jinu.com, from us on 2 January, not 2 July as you said above. And you cancelled that domain today. If you cancel a domain you give up ownership of it, so you no longer own that domain.

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.

    In this case this domain will not be available again for use elsewhere until after it expires in January 2020.

    However, I can still restore the domain to your account. Then we can help you point it to another provider until it becomes eligible for transfer – new domains cannot be transferred until you have owned it for at least 60 days.

    Please confirm if we should do this.

    But I’m afraid that I don’t understand your email exactly.

    What I was confused is this part.

    Does this mean that you can reactivate my domain even though I canceled my domain and gave up my ownership?

    If this is true, YES I want to restore my domain and I will transfer my domain to another provider after March 2nd.

    Absolutely. I was able to restore yes-jinu.com back to your account. If you set up a WordPress.org site, you can point the nameservers of yes-jinu.com over to where the site is hosted until you reach 60 days of ownership. Once you hit 60 days, you can then proceed with the transfer.
