Domain pointed to new host, but doesn't work?
-
Hi, I’ve transitioned my blog from wordpress.com to a separate host. I’ve followed the instructions to change my name servers, and I’ve checked that the domain has propagated (it has)
In the cpanel of my separate host i’ve parked the domain successfully, but hours later the domain still resolves to the old wordpress.com site.
My host says its a problem with my A records on the wordpress.com site but i’m confused as to what to do next?
Thanks for any help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the domain name you are trying to change?
Note: it can take 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet

I checked with a separate DNS checking site, and my new host also verified that the domain had propagated. Also I assumed if the domain appeared in my host’s cpanel and allowed me to add it as a parked domain then that meant the changes had taken effect?
Thanks for the quick reply.

Ah I see that my domain has privacy set to “on” but when i click manage nothing happens.
Is there a chance this is the problem?

http://hoopurbia.com/ – does not seem to be a WordPress.COM site – you have some hot linked pictures – but the log-in also was not a WordPress.COM log-in

I’ve cleared my cache. When i go to hoopurbia.com it switches to hoopurbia.wordpress.com for me. If you look at the bottom it says “BLOG AT WORDPRESS.COM”
The new wordpress.org version of the site is currently at hoop.ihoopu.com and looks a little different.

The website at http://hoopurbia.com/ is not resolving to a WordPress.com hosted site. It is pointing to a self hosted site with nameservers at hostpapa.com. Furthermore, glancing at the sourcecode for the site, I see plugins and a WordPress version number, all indicators that this site is not hosted on WordPress.com. What the theme author puts in the footer (the WordPress.com part) has no bearing on where the site is actually hosted.
