Domain pointing to old hosting after transfer
-
Hi,
I recently moved my site from another hosting plan to a wordpress plan. I also transferred the domain to wordpress. Once the transfer was comeplete I changed the nameservers to wordpress and followed the process to point the domain to my wordpress site, including restoring the default A records. However, the domain is still directing to the old hosting. Is there another step or is there an issue?
Thanks for any help!

http://sustainablestansted.org/ show your site on the wordpress.com platform. It can take up to 72 hours to propagate DNS-settings throughout the internet. Clearing your browser and dns cache is the first step to take.

Thanks for your reply. It had been over 72 hours. I’ve deleted some of the DNS records that must have come over with the transfer which has pointed to the domain to the correct site. However, now the SSL cert is pending so getting privacy error warnings when trying to view the site. Hope this will resolve in time but that has now been nearly five hours.

Hi there,
For me your site is now showing at the correct https address. Please note that it can take several hours for the DNS change to resolve, but SSL cannot be added until after that change takes place. This can lead to a delay where you can see the site at an unsecure http site for a brief time, but when SSL is ready it reverts to the secure https address.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
