domain prefix expirations

I was looking for a new blog name to transition to but all the simple good ones have been taken way back in 2005 yet they have just sit their parked since then. Can wordpress.com admins free up sites like:
bike.wordpress.com
bicycle.wordpress.com
tour.wordpress.com
touring.wordpress.comSo that new users can re-use them?
Regards,
DustinThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

sorry – no need to use a blog to keep the name – if there is a name you want that is not being used you can contact the blogger and see if they would transfer the name to you or you could buy it from them
if the name has been deleted it is gone forever as blog names (addresses) are not recycled at WordPress.COM

Here is the official response I recieved from WordPress; I still think it’s a shame as this is not real domain registration. So the idea you are going to buy a site from someone or that valuable sites just go unused is a waste of the WP.com ecosystem:
We do not reuse or reassign blog names on WordPress.com. Please refer to this support page for more information: http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/ If you like, you can attempt to contact the owner of that blog and ask them if they would like to transfer it to you. You can do this by either leaving them a message using a contact form if it exists, or leaving a comment on an existing page or post requesting they contact you. If you are able to reach the blog owner and they are willing to transfer the blog to you, here are the instructions they can use to do that. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account If they do not respond or refuse the transfer, you will need to select a different name for your WordPress.com blog. Keep in mind we also offer an upgrade for custom domain names and you can use any WordPress.com blog URL underneath a custom domain.
