    Hi,
    Will I need to buy wordpress plan to renew domain for second year?

    Hi there!

    When you purchase a WordPress.com plan, you can choose monthly or yearly billing options. If you choose the yearly billing option, we will give you the first year’s domain registration free of cost. You can register and use the domain for one year.

    From the second year onwards, you’ll need to renew both the domain and the WordPress.com plan separately. If you renew just the domain and not the WordPress.com plan, the features that come with that plan will be removed.

    One of those features is the ability to set your custom domain as the primary address. With that feature disabled, your domain will redirect to the WordPress.com address of your site.
