Domain Privacy
-
Hi! I was interested in finding out if you offer a Domain Privacy for purchase. I’m a mom blogger and tend to write about my adventures in mommyhood and I want to take the proper steps to ensure mine and my family’s privacy and safety.
If you don’t offer this service, do you have any advice for me as to how to go about finding it?
Thank you in advance,
Amanda
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Amanda!
After looking into your account, I found that you already have private registration enabled on the domain:
muchadoaboutmommy.com
So one thing you can do to ensure you and your family’s privacy is to set your site to private and invite user’s you want to view the site. It will not be accessible to the public outside of that.
Take a look at the guide below for more information on this:

Let me know if you have any questions with this!

Grace,
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I’m not sure that setting my blog to private will work for me as I have been promoting on facebook and other social media and want to get as many followers as I can. Many of the people who visit my blog follow links from social media and not all of them have wordpress.
My main concern is really the trolls that can find out my private information. If I’m being paranoid about this, please let me know. Thanks so much for your help :)

I understand. For public sites please note that everyone and anyone has access to whatever you post. I’m sure you’re aware of that and what it can entail. As for your private information, WordPress.com is safe in the sense that if you have a strong enough password and enable Two Step Authentication you should be fine.
As for the domain information this is what I can see when I look up your domain:
https://who.wildwestdomains.com/whoisstd.aspx?domain=muchadoaboutmommy.com&prog_id=wildwestdomains
As seen all your private information including your name, address, and phone number are hidden.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Oh! So I already have Domain by Proxy! I had just been reading up about that and was considering purchasing. But that’s perfect, that’s exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so very much again, Grace. You’ve been a big help :) Have an awesome day!
