  Is it possible to get a domain released that I set up through wordpress. ie example.com
  As I have set up a self hosted wordpress site elsewhere but I want to keep the domain

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Yes. If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers.
