Domain Problem
-
I purchased a new domain (commonorator.com) through wordpress.com but it is mapping to an existing domain that I own (phoenixmillennial.com). I already contacted support once and was given a tutorial on how to change a domain to a new register. However, I don’t want a new host or register, I’d like to have the two domains completely separate from each other but still under my account. Can I have multiple domains and separate webpages under one account?

Hi there,
Yes, as long as both blogs are under the same username then you can have two different blogs with two different domain names. What domains do you want resolving to what blogs?

Thanks for getting back to me. I purchased phoenixmillennial.com and commonorator.com from wordpress.com, and both under the same account. In the domains part of my dashboard it is asking me to make one my primary domain. Whenever I type in the URL commonorator.com it routes directly to phoenixmillennial.com. “CommonOrator.com” doesn’t even stay in the URL address bar, it switches to phoneixmillennial.com.
The two domains are intended for completely different websites that I want to work on with no connection to each other whatsoever. But no matter what I try, commonorator.com continues to route directly to the other.

Heya,
When you type in “commonorator.com,” what site do you want it to route to? I only see phoenixmillenial.wordpress.com and phoenixmillenialdotcom.wordpress.com as blogs which are setup under this WordPress.com account.
-
I want it to route to its own domain, commonorator.com. I want to build its own completely separate site.
I want to build completely separate and different sites for commonorator.com and phoenixmillennial.com. But as you see, when you type in commonorator.com it routes and turns into phoenixmillennial.com.

OK, in that case, while you are logged in under your current username, you will need to create a new blog for commonorator.com. You can do so by logging in to your Dashboard and then going to My Blogs and then clicking on the New Blog link.
Once a new blog has been created for commonorator.com, I can move that domain so that it is pointed to that new blog for you.

Thank you for your help. And done. I registered commonorator.wordpress.com under “my blogs”

You’re all sorted then! I’ve transferred your domain over to your new blog!
Let me know if there’s anything else you need!
