Domain problem

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

Yesterday, I opened this account (donjuandoncel) and asked for this domain (juandonceldotcom.wordpress.com) As a mistake I mapped old my domain (juandoncel.com) to this account and payed $13 to do it. I cancelled my order and went through the refund option. I opened another account (DonJuanDoncel) with the same email address. This one using this domain (ilovethatart.com). I need to redirect any traffic from (juandoncel.com) to (ilovethatart.com) and if possible erase the account (donjuandoncel) and domain (juandonceldotcom.wordpress.com). My problem is when I go to (juandoncel.com) it goes to (juandonceldotcom.wordpress.com) and I need it to go to (ilovethatart.com). Please do not erase the wrong account. Again, erase donjuandoncel DO NOT ERASE DonJuanDoncel. I hope you understand.

    Thank you

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The user accounts you mention (donjuandoncel and DonJuanDoncel) are actually the same account as capital letters do not change the username. Let me recap to make sure I understand correctly:

    • You originally created the site juandonceldotcom.wordpress.com and mapped the domain juandoncel.com
    • The domain mapping for juandoncel.com was then successfully refunded and cancelled from your site
    • You then connected a self-hosted site, ilovethatart.com, which is hosted at GoDaddy through our Jetpack plugin. That plugin connects your self-hosted site to your WordPress.com account and enables many features from WordPress.com for self-hosted blogs. You can read more about it here:

      http://jetpack.me

    • You would now like juandoncel.com to redirect to ilovethatart.com, your self-hosted site

If that’s correct, first, you can delete juandonceldotcom.wordpress.com following the instructions here:

    Delete a Website

As I mentioned before, your usernames are actually the same, so you don’t want to delete your user account (user accounts can’t be deleted from WordPress.com anyway).

As for redirecting juandoncel.com to ilovethatart.com, it looks like juandoncel.com is registered and managed at GoDaddy, not at WordPress.com. So, you would need to setup the redirect there.

Please let me know if I misunderstood any of your message!
