Domain Problem

  Hello,
  I have been trying several different sites to put together my own personal website. I decided I want to go with one other than wordpress.com. I accidentally registered the domain garrettkrohn.com here, but I would like to use that domain through a different website. So I cancelled it here but it is now showing as unavailable on that other site. Will this change after a period of time or is there something I can do?

  Hi Garrett,

  When a domain is cancelled shortly after registration, it goes into a holding period to prevent against spam. There are two options here:

  1. I can help return the domain to your WordPress.com account and help you to use it with another platform through changing the name servers. This is likely the fastest method to get you up and running.

  2. We can wait for the domain to become available again for registration. This can take 1-2 weeks or longer. You could then register the domain elsewhere.
