Domain Problems

2 different web designs are showing up. It seems I’ve been editing purespaandwellness.wordpress.com and that design is not showing up when you look up our normal website: purespaandwellness.com. We want the WordPress design to show up there instead of having 2 different sites.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You’re currently logged in to WordPress.com where you can work on https://purespaandwellness.wordpress.com/
Your other site is completely separate and hosted elsewhere.

    Domain Name: PURESPAANDWELLNESS.COM
    Registrar: GoDaddy.com
    Name Server: NS1.PLANETPUEBLO.NET
    Name Server: NS2.PLANETPUEBLO.NET

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Thank you so much. Any idea on how to transfer that domain? I looked at the FAQs for domain transfers but it didn’t help. A previous manager gave me editor access but it looks like I can’t access anything when I go to “Manage” for My Site. So I can’t add a domain or anything like that.

Transfer the domain? Do you mean you want to close that site down and move it to WordPress.com (here)? It looks like you’d need a WordPress.com Business plan or even an eCommerce plan. You’d need to know what theme the site was using to recreate the layout here and then export/import content. And you’d need to be Admin of that site/domain to gain access to it to make any changes such as pointing it from GoDaddy to WordPress.com rather than the current host.

Sorry for being confusing. I want my WordPress design to show up when you search purespaandwellness.com. We like the WordPress design much more than the GoDaddy one the previous designer launched. It’s under my impression that we have a business plan, so you’re saying that we can transfer the WordPress design to the domain purespaandwellness.com?

  • Hi there,

You don’t have a Business Plan with WordPress.com. purespaandwellness.wordpress.com, the only site in your WordPress.com account, is on our free plan.

Your site at purespaandwellness.com is also using WordPress – the open source software found on WordPress.org – and the Radcliffe theme you have active on the WordPress.com site is also available for the version of WordPress you’re using.

Go to https://wordpress.com/theme/radcliffe-2 and scroll to the bottom. You’ll find a download link for the theme there. Or if you install the Jetpack plugin on your GoDaddy site and connect it to your WordPress.com account, you’ll also be able to manage that site from the My Sites interface, same as the WordPress.com site, which will allow you to install the theme from there.

If you definitely want to migrate the site to us instead, so we’re hosting you instead of GoDaddy, you can also do that, but you’ll then need to upgrade the WordPress.com site to our Business Plan, as @themagicrobot also indicated above.

You can find a detailed guide on how to do this migration here:
