  Hello,

  I would like to purchase the following domain: [redacted]
  However, when I am trying to do this, I keep getting prompted to upgrade.

  I do not want to upgrade, I simply want to purchase the domain through you for $18 a year.

  Please assist with this.

  Hi there,

  You can remove the .wordpress.com part and use a custom domain name instead, like example.com.

  On WordPress.com, Adding a domain is a paid upgrade and it is a yearly plan.

  Hi there @chelseafrost, if you are trying to buy a domain to use with a WordPressdotcom website, you’ll need to buy an upgrade plan, as @khushbudesaiblog mentioned.
