  I am buying a Domain from here. It said it was free for the 1st yr, but when I clicked on it, there is still a charge of $96 due now? Also, I do not want ‘wordpress.com at the end of my Domain.

  Hi there, you do need a paid plan here to use a custom domain, but each paid plan includes 1 free custom domain for the first year: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
