Domain Purchase Cancellation

  Hi! I recently purchased a domain through wordpress, then immediately cancelled. Do you know when this domain will be available for outside purchase?

  Hi there,

  Once you decided to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it.

  Instead, you can transfer the domain to a different host:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/

  I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore ayoalex.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.

  Thanks for the help guys!

  If I am willing to risk someone else taking the domain ayoalex.com and not continue hosting it with wordpress, when is the soonest I would be able to purchase that domain off of a different host site (like godaddy or google domains)?

  Alright! It’s a risky move, but hopefully works out. Since you canceled the domain immediately, it usually takes a couple of weeks for the domain to be available again. It’s not exact, so you’ll need to constantly check the domain’s availability.
