Domain Question

  Hi. I am considering using WordPress for my website. However there seems to be an issue with domains. I own a domain – say XYZ.com for example (via Google Domains), which is what I want the site URL to be. When I go through the process of trying to map the domain, WordPress redirects me to a checkout page where it seems I will be paying for the URL: ‘XYZdotcom.wordpress.com’.

  I don’t want this URL and I won’t proceed with this order as is. Can you please confirm that if I do proceed I will be able to have my website URL as simply ‘XYZ.com’?

  Hello there,

  To be able to map a domain you already own to your WordPress.com website you need to have an upgraded WordPress.com plan on your site (Personal, Premium Business plan, or eCommerce.)
