domain question

    We recently developed a new site through Squarespace, and since they don’t allow a transfer of our domain, it seems we’ll need to ‘point’ to the new site. This is the first site we’ve built (the person who built our WordPress site is no longer available), and we need to know what steps to take to maintain our domain name (it is set to expire next month), what the cost is, and will we be able to keep the contact emails we currently use on our site?
    Basic questions, I know, but we need assistance with this. Thanks for any help.
