Domain question

  Hi. And thank you for your good work.
  I want to set up a website with WordPress, and I have some experience. Should be no problem.
  But my question is is: can I change the domain name later on?
  (I participate in a online racing team and we own a domain name, but I cant use it until the team have approved the new wordpress site)

  Hi there,

  At any time, you can either purchase a plan upgrade and have a custom domain, or you can change your site address:

  1) Your WordPress.com blog comes with a free address, like “example.wordpress.com”. You can get rid of the .wordpress.com part and use a custom domain name instead, like “example.com”. Adding a domain is a paid upgrade: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

  2) Your WordPress.com site address is what people use to access your site. An example of a WordPress.com site address is “example.wordpress.com”. You can change the “example” part of the address to something else by following these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-site-address/
