Domain question

  I was wondering. I am part of a site (funtinclubpenguin.com) and we use wordpress.com for our blog. Well, the owner of the site wants to switch over to wordpress.org and I was wondering, he registered the domain through wordpress.com, but I want to know if I can detach it from the wordpress.com site so I can set it up for the wordpress.org site. And, if it doesn’t work, re-attach it to the wordpress.com site.

  Yes – the content from the site can be exported then imported into the new site – then when it looks right just change where the name servers forfuntinclubpenguin.com are pointed to – then set the original site to Private so the search engines do not see the duplicate content – there are some guides here in the Support section and timethief has some guides on her site.

  how do I change where the name servers are pointed? do you have a post or something that you can give me? (I am a noob, but I want to learn more) :/
