domain re-direct question
-
Hi. Right now I have my Bluehost bought domatin http://www.petfriendsmagazine.com directed to my WordPress site at https://petfriendsmagazine.wordpress.com/.
Can I do that in reverse – still using WordPress but have it go to my regular domain?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
Yes, you can do that. They call it “mapping”, which is a paid upgrade. Details are available here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ -
What’s the difference between migration and mapping a domain? Basically, I want to keep using WordPress.com but I want the site to have the domain name in the title bar and not the WordPress.com address.

Migration is when you move the content of your blog (text and media files) from one host to another. Mapping is when you point your domain name to the content you want it to display. I’ll throw one more term into the mix: redirecting. That’s what you have now … petfriendsmagazine.com redirects to petfriendsmagazine.wordpress.com and the title bar changes.

Thanks so much. It’s been a headache trying to figure this out and you’ve been my best resource to explain this. Appreciate it.
