Domain Reconcile

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I am having a hard time linking my wordpress account to my domain registered with godaddy. I called godaddy and they told me they are sending the proper signals to wordpress but wordpress is not. They also told me that I need a domain reconcile (re-set) of my account. How do I go about doing this?

    Hi Sarah,

I checked your domain and it is not yet pointed to WordPress.com. You can view your domain’s settings at the following link (and send this link to GoDaddy to show them your domain’s settings):

    http://leafdns.com/index.cgi?testid=9FA9C1A7

Your domain’s name servers will need to be changed to these:

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

You can also use GoDaddy’s guide to change your domain’s name servers if you want to make that change yourself:

I went to the godaddy website and I can send you a screenshot of the dns control section if you want, it says

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

I believe that godaddy was right when they said that I need a domain reconcile because I do not think wordpress has registered the change. Is it possible for you to just try it?

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

Can you contact GoDaddy support again and clarify what issue they see on their end that they think we can fix with a domain reconcile?

I believe that your GoDaddy dashboard shows the correct name servers, but your domain is still using the GoDaddy name servers. It sounds like that change got stuck somewhere in their system and they’ll need to reconcile that on their end first, before we can do anything to help.

Looks like I got it figured out. Thanks for your help.
