Hi there,
Redemption refers to the last phase of a domain expiration. At this point you don’t own it any more, but the domain registrar still controls it, and is able to sell it to someone else at private auction. Only if your domain does not sell at auction will it be released to the general public again.
At this stage we should still be able to get the domain back for you, but our registrar charges an $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption. Please let me know if you agree to this fee and I can get the process started.
Your other option is to wait for the domain to be released. This usually happens about 40 days after the domain enters redemption, but ultimately it’s up to the registrar. They’ll also only release it if they can’t sell it at auction, so there is a risk of losing the domain if you opt to wait.

I have sent a payment link to the email address connected to your account. I’ll receive a notification once you pay and then I can email the registrar to retrieve the domain.
It usually takes around 2 days for a domain to be restored, but might be a bit longer as it’s the weekend. Should the recovery fail, your payment will be refunded in full.

Thank you. I’ve emailed our registrar. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back from them.

Your domain has been reactivated. I checked and it’s pointing to Squarespace again, but it looks like you’ll need to re-verify it with them before it will show your site.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
