Domain redirect
-
I recently changed my user name and blog url. how do I redirect people from my url to the new one? When I did the site re-direct it was sending people to the old address!
Blog url: http://plowinginpearls.wordpress.com/ -
Howdy,
Could you make sure you’re following this guide when using the Site Redirect upgrade?

So I did all that but the problem is this: “To begin your Site Redirect upgrade purchase, enter the URL below to which you want your plowinginpearls.wordpress.com blog traffic to redirect”
I want my old domain (homespunhousewife.wordpress.com) to be redirected to plowinginpearls.wordpress.com. But it won’t let me do that b/c homespunhousewife doesn’t exist anymore.
Is this redirect something I should have done before I changed things? -
Howdy,
You can only use the site redirect upgrade if the blog address still exists.
Unfortunately, there’s not much we can do if you’ve already deleted your blog.

You’re welcome.
You might want to consider registering a custom domain name (like mydomain.com) for your new blog:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/register-domain/
That way, you can always take your site’s address with you.
If you move to another host, you can take it with you. If you decide that you want to tie it to a new WordPress.com blog, you can do so.
