Domain redirect
-
I own http://graceandtyler.com through GoDaddy, and reserved a WP site (http://graceandtyler.wordpress.com) to use. I purchased the domain mapping upgrade through WP, so that the custom domain pointed to the WP site.
I’ve decided to use a different website service, and so I don’t want http://graceandtyler.com to point to anything WP related. I cancelled the WP domain mapping upgrade and deleted the website, but http://graceandtyler.com still points to WP.
I haven’t tinkered with the GoDaddy DNS settings at all, so this seems like an issue on the WP end.
Thanks,

Hi Tyler,
Once the domain mapping was cancelled, everything was removed on our end to make it work. That said, the domain name system caches every chance it can—on your browser, your computer, sometimes your router, your ISP, etc. Most likely, the caches still indicate the domain pointed to WordPress.com, which is why it appeared to continue to work, if your nameservers at GoDaddy were no longer pointing at WordPress.com.
Checking out your site, it is not showing me a WordPress.com site when visiting the domain. If you have any questions or need anything else, please let me know. Cheers!
