domain redirect issues

  • Unknown's avatar

Just purchased the upgrade in order to redirect the blog jbiitester.wordpress.com to the domain name M-Gymkhana hosted by Winhost, but the site is not displaying at all. What is showing up is this screen shot listed below. What am I doing wrong and what are the steps that I need to take in order for it to display properly? Please treat me as if I’m a 3 years old and don’t direct me to a forum answer because they can be very convoluted and just confuse me more. I need some actual help with step by step type answers. Thanks

M-Gymkhana is not a domain URL. Please post the correct and complete URL starting with http:// and contain no capital letters at all.

Exactly what did you buy? Domain Mapping or Domain Redirect?

    http://www.m-gymkhana.com

sorry the above is the complete URL address. So what I did yesterday was redirect jbiitester.wordpress.com to the above mentioned URL that was the message that I received and the site was not displaying. I just this morning changed the primary domain back to jbiitester.wordpress.com so that I can see the site once again and wanted to wait for an aswer before I started all over again. So now I’m ready for some help. Thanks

Iis it a matter of changing the server names on the host site (WinHost)? If so, would that fix the problem? and How long would it take for this to take effect?

Does it matter that I have another active and working properly website that uses WinHost as it’s domain, with the name servers changed to ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com and so forth as well as changing the name servers name to the same thing?

    Could this cause problems?
