Domain Redirect MX Record settings don't seem to work
-
Hi…I did a domain redirect from http://www.camicus.com (my personal domain) to camicusdotorg.wordpress.com earlier this week. The domain redirect is working perfectly but I don’t seem to be able to collect mail at (email visible only to moderators and staff). Oddly the email worked for most of the day after the domain redirect had taken place.
I’ve checked the MX Records and I think they’re correct:
On WordPress (under custom DNS Records):
MX 10 primary-mail.mailhoster.co.uk.
MX 20 secondary-mail.mailhoster.co.uk.On Xcalibre (Hosts the camicus.com domain) under MX Records:
MX 10 primary-mail.mailhoster.co.uk.
MX 20 secondary-mail.mailhoster.co.uk.The error that I’m getting from my email client is:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Camicus (orhan) account. The email server returned an error.
Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR Cannot connect to POP server 72.233.2.58 (72.233.2.58:110), connect error 10061
Server: ‘pop3.camicus.com’
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC90
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): NoThere are no C-Records set up for the camicus.com domain on Xcalibre but the A records for Pop3, smtp and webmail are:
Pop3: 217.8.240.15
smtp: 94.136.40.220
webmail: 217.8.240.67There are no A records currently set up in my WordPress domain settings. If someone could please tell me what’s going wrong and what (if anything) I need to change in my MX domain record settings I’d really appreciate it.
I had wondered whether this was just a propagation problem, but it’s been out now for 12 hours and the domain redirect went in about 72 hours ago.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have a workaround for this. If I refer directly to the IP addresses for the pop3 and smtp servers there never has to be a domain redirect so I get my email fine. I’d still like to know what’s going wrong with my MX record settings though if there are any email geniuses out there.
Thanks!
