domain redirection and ftp questions
-
hi- yesterday i was blogging about directing my domain (agerstrand.com) to my wordpress blog (billyagerstrand.wordpress.com) that problem was resolved-
however where i tried to post an image on my blog- from my ftp directory
(http://agerstrand.com/images/alien.jpg) it did not workis this because i changed the name servers on my hosting site- to ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com?
i was hoping to use my domain space as a photobucket- to host images that i want to post on my blog.
is this possible? did i mess up somewhere?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You cannot use FTP with WP.com. Lots of people use Photobucket or Flickr here for their images, but you’ll probably find that they’ll have more Googlejuice if you host them at WP.com. To use external sites, you have to grab the img code for the images and hotlink them.

so maybe since i like wordpress so much- i should just count my losses with the space that i just re registered – and purchase some space here?
hm… that sounds like a good idea.
is hot linking slow from flickr?

also i wish that the would mention that ftp doesn’t work at all before i bought the redirecting extra– it would have helped me to make an decision about my website.

You loose your web access to the web host account when you map the domain since the domain name no longer points at the web hosting account.
You can still access your web hosting space via your control panel at the web host though.
You could map your blog here to a subdomain blog.agerstrand.com and then the main domain, agerstrand.com would still be accessible and you could then use it as a photo server for your blog here.
