Domain registered but unable to map

I tried entering my registered domain to map my wordpress to but an error message is shown saying that it has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have not seen the .sg extension before – I have flagged this for the staff in case you need help with the mapping

Yes, I have been using those instructions. Perhaps it is the .sg extension. However, it was said that “You can still map domains with other extensions to your blog – you just have to register them with another registrar and then map them to your blog.” so I’m not sure why this isn’t working.

I see that you have not updated the nameservers to us yet and the domain mapping was not purchased. Please update your nameservers to us:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
You can do this by contacting your registrar. Here is the info on your domain:

I have also added a new Zone Record for your domain.
Then purchase the domain mapping upgrade by going to Store > My Domains in your Dashboard. You can view this guide for more information:

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I can’t find the option to purchase the domain mapping upgrade.
Do I register it first? I tried typing in debunga.com.sg to register but it apparently “cannot be registered on wordpress.com” Sorry, I might need a bit of a step-by-step guide for this.

Was debunga.com.sg not registered by you? If you look at the link, it says it was registered by:
INSTRA CORPORATION
If that is not you then you will not be able to map this domain. You will need to register a different domain.

Hi Grace,
I’m still having trouble mapping my domain even after I have updated the nameservers to you. My registrar says that this is due to an incompatibility between my email host (microsoft365) and WordPress as a website host.
I was offered two options:
1. Ask Microsoft365 for their DNS records for WordPress to configure on your end (and delegate nameservers to WordPress only)
2. Ask WordPress for your DNS records for Microsoft365 to configure on their end (and delegate nameservers to Microsoft365 only)
A third option I have thought of is to transfer the registrar-ship of “debunga.com.sg” from my original registrar to WordPress, but I’m not sure if doing so is possible.
Please advise. Thank you!

OK thanks for the confirmation. Yes, once you change your nameservers to us your email will not work. So. what you will need to do is add custom records for you email to work. We have specific instructions for Microsoft365 here:

Take a look at that and you should be set. Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for full propagation so please patient. Nevertheless, after you change the nameservers at your registrar and add the custom records (this would be on our end by going to Store > My Domains > Edit Domain > Email in your Dashboard) please let me know and I can see if everything was set up properly.
Also note that while we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar.

I contacted Microsoft and these are their instructions to me. Could you assist me with them?
1) Please contact WordPress.com and tell them you are the existing customer of them, you had a website hosting with WordPress and your domain ‘debunga.com.sg’ is currently pointing to WordPress’s name servers
2) Tell them to assist you to add the necessary ‘MX’ and ‘TXT’ DNS records which Microsoft forwarded to youType: Alias/Host Name: Destination/Points to Address
TXT @ or debunga.com.sg MS=ms93921899
MX @ or debunga.com.sg ms93921899.msv1.invalid.outlook.com3) After WordPress added the records, Microsoft should able to check them and activate your email hosting on their end
4) After that, Microsoft may give you some more DNS records to add on WordPress’s name servers
5) Then everything should be working fine. -

I’m not sure if you understand my predicament. I’ve tried to map the domain name I already own to no avail. When I type “debunga.com.sg” into the space, I get this message:
Sorry but debunga.com.sg has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.
I literally am not able to map it because of some strange issue. Please advise. Unfortunately linking me back to that page over and over isn’t going to work. Thanks for the help so far.

I just tried to map it and it worked. Do you get this box?
If you do, click the box that says:
Yes, I already own this domain name. Map it to my WordPress.com blog.
If that is not what you get, can you take a screenshot and upload it to your Media Library?

Is it possible to map a .no domain using wordpress? I receive the following error message when trying to do so: “Sorry but suvanaokologisk.no has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.”I registered the domain name earlier today.
