Hey there,
It doesn’t look like there have been any domain-related changes associated with your account recently. Can you please explain what’s changed?
Best,
P. -
Hello,
It seems I have made the mistake of signing up for accounts politicalpandora.wordpress.com AND thesouthernreport.wordpress.com. I purchased the domain name TheSouthernReport.com and what I am seeing is, when I log in to thesouthernreport.com, the default web address is politicalpandora.wordpress.com. Also, when I sign in, I receive this message…“User missacumen Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested
You are logged in as “missacumen” and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for “WordPress.com”. If you are not “missacumen”, please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are “missacumen” and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.
If you reached this screen by accident and meant to visit one your own sites, here are some shortcuts to help you find your way.
Your Sites
THE SOUTHERN REPORT”
So why is politicalpandora.wordpress.com not showing up here? It seems both the blogs have merged and I wish to separate them. I realize one cannot delete a blog address once it is established, but I really have no use for politicalpandora.wordpress.com (my apologies, I was a newbie when I chose this name) …How do I go about keeping thesouthernreport.wordpress.com separate from politicalpandora.wordpress.com? Or am I doomed forever? lol
Please feel free to contact me with any further question at your convenience…
Regards,
MissAcumen -
When we register a username account here the email address we provide becomes our unique identifier. When we are logged into WordPress.com and register a blog it’s registered to that username account we are logged in under and to the email address which is our unique identifier. We can register as many blogs as we wish and provided we are using the same username account then all the blogs will be registered under it and the associated email account. We can change our “display name” but that display name will appear on all blogs registered under the same username account.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/#change-display-name-nicknameIt appears that you may have more than one username account. If that’s the case you must be logged in under the username account that purchased the domain mapping upgrade for the blog.
-
If you only have a single username account then clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility
If you have more than one username account then you must be logged in under the username account that registered the blog in question. -
Hello,
Thank you for your timely response. However, I am SO confused, lol…The username for both sites is “missacumen”. I assumed they would remain separate as long as I logged in i.e. thesouthernreport.wordpress.com/admin, but this does no seem to be the case…Any suggestions? -
I have flagged this thread for Staff attention. They will help you sort this out when they can. Please be patient while waiting for their assistance.
-
Ok, lol…the link you sent me to eliminate “politicalpandora” is saying “sorry that site already exists”???
-
I did not post any link with the intent of eliminating any blogs at all. Blogs can be “hidden” and that why I posted what I did above here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/domain-registered-under-different-name?replies=8#post-995601
-
The only blog under your missacumen account is http://politicalpandora.wordpress.com/
Though they share the same title, http://thesouthernreport.wordpress.com/ is definitely registered under a different account.
Are you still having trouble?
-
Yes, lol…And now I am totally confused…I clicked the link provided by the last rep who addressed the issue and it didn’t seem to rectify the issue…I realize (and apologize) I may not be using the correct terminology, but I was hoping the link would clear this up…This was the link I followed…https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated…With Regards

The blog thesouthernreport.wordpress.com is registered under the username “thesouthernreport”. The blog politicalpandora.wordpress.com is registered under the username “missacumen” (the one you are posting from in this thread). It sounds like you created both, but don’t want to use politicalpandora.wordpress.com and want to use and update thesouthernreport.wordpress.com instead – is that correct?
If that’s the case, you may wish to do the following:
1) Regain the access to “thesouthernreport”. If you don’t remember your password, you can log out of WordPress.com and reset your password via this link: http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
2) Set politicalpandora.wordpress.com to private. You will need to login again as “missacumen” and then change the blog privacy settings under Settings > Privacy.
I hope this helps! If you need further assistance sorting out your accounts, please let me know!

Hello,
Thank you so much for your response…I seem to have made the correct changes. I do, however, have another question…If I set politicalpandora to “private” will this in any way whatsoever affect users or those who wish to post comments to thesouthernreport? I have no intention of reactivating politicalpandora, so I am hoping we have resolved the issue once and for all.Best,
-

Hello,
I have set “politicalpandora” to private which worked well once I sign in to visit the site without signing in, so we’re ok there…. However, what seems to be happening is when I sign into TheSouthernReport.com/admin, I am immediately redirected to politicalpandora? This is confusing because of the web address? I must not have changed the password correctly…Oh what a tangled web I have weaved, lol… -
Are you logging out of WordPress.com and clearing your browser cache and cookies, http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050 prior to logging in under the second username?
-
TheSouthernReport.com is not mapped here, it’s just forwarded from your registrar, which causes plenty of problems, like what you encountered.
Try https://thesouthernreport.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ instead.
If you would like to properly map the domain, you can do that following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
