domain registrar changed

    domain registration expired, but would like another regsitrar to manage it. how do we get wordpress to release it?

    Is that the domain in question? Letting a domain expire is a dangerous thing to do if you still expect to use it elsewhere as you now no longer own it. I’ve added a tag to ask a member of staff to reply to you.

    Hi there,

    If you still want to use the domain I recommend you take steps ASAP to restore and renew it, and then you can transfer it to the new registrar.

    Your domain expired on 31 October and was removed from our system three days ago. In another day or two it will enter redemption at your domain provider, at which point it will cost an additional $80 fee to get it back. This will last for around 30 days, and only after that will the domain be released.

    Once it’s released there’s a very real chance someone else can buy it, at which point you will lose it completely.

    There is no way we can release the domain for you without it going through redemption, so you can either wait it out and hope you get to your domain first once it is released, or we can help you try to get it back and renew it before it goes into redemption.

    Please let us know if you want us to try and recover the domain. Note that we don’t directly control the process, so the domain can go into redemption at any moment, at which point the additional fee will apply, even if we start this process immediately.
