Domain registrar says servers are not configured yet so I can't update servers
-
I am trying to point my domain at my wordpress site.
I understand that I need to upgrade my account to be able to point my domain at my wordpress site (stuartdowellpolishtranslations.wordpress.com).
However, the instructions say that I should update the domain name servers at my domain registrar. When I do this at my domain registrar (home.pl) I get a message saying that NS1.WORDPRESS.COM, NS2.WORDPRESS.COM and NS3.WORDPRESS.COM servers are not configured for my domain and that I should contact the DNS server administrator.
So now I am stuck! Can you help?
Thanks,
Stuart

You probably need a zone record added – but we need the domain name you want to map to add a zone record.
Please post the domain name you are trying to map.
I will flag this for the staff to help you –

@stuartdowell: I added a zone record for your domain stuartdowell.pl. Could you please wait a bit, then try updating the name servers with your registrar again?

Thanks for that. I have another related question.
I want to keep receiving my mail at my old server host (Proz.com) and I understand that I need to give you my MX record, which I believe is “stuartdowell.pl. 14400 IN MX 0 stuartdowell.pl”.
However, I do not know how my mail will be directed to the server at Proz.com with that MX record as it contains only details of my domain and I will be pointing my domain at my WordPress site from my domain provider by updating my DNS records with WordPress servers.
Can you help?
Thanks and best regards,
Stuart

Stuart, a correct MX record needs to be in the format of MX <pref> <host>.
So, it should look like MX 1 ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM or something similar.
We have further information on how to add email using custom DNS records here here. You will need information from ProZ.com about what information to put in your MX record (you can contact them via this support form, and point them to MX record examples here.
