domain registration

    Hi,

I would like to know if I “own” my domain ctnewbornphotographerblog.com at the moment or if it can be taken from me. I received a strange email from China regarding my domain and usually would just delete it but wanted to double-check with wordpress. Here’s a copy of the email I got:

    Dear Manager,

(If you are not the person who is in charge of this, please forward this to your CEO,Thanks)

This email is from China domain name registration center, which mainly deal with the domain name registration and dispute internationally in China.
We received an application from Huake Ltd on January 12, 2015. They want to register ” ctnewbornphotographerblog ” as their Internet Keyword and ” ctnewbornphotographerblog .cn “、” ctnewbornphotographerblog .com.cn ” 、” ctnewbornphotographerblog .net.cn “、” ctnewbornphotographerblog .org.cn ” domain names etc.., they are in China domain names. But after checking it, we find “ctnewbornphotographerblog ” conflicts with your company. In order to deal with this matter better, so we send you email and confirm whether this company is your distributor or business partner in China or not?

    Best Regards,
    Jim

    Hi there,

Please note that you own the domain: ctnewbornphotographerblog.com and it is yours unless it is not renewed.

The email from this company seems to want to inform you that the .cn domain is available:

    ctnewbornphotographerblog.com.cn

That is a completely different domain, but considering the similarities in the name, they just wanted to know if you wanted ctnewbornphotographerblog.com.cn.

If not, you can ignore the email. If you do, please do some more research on .cn domain companies as I have no history with this company.

    Cheers!
