  Hello,

  I have recently signed up as a member on wordpress.com. I am in the stages of trying to purchase my theme, as well at the purchase the premium plan that includes s custom site address. When I go to checkout I get an error message reading domain already taken. According to my research as well as wordpress search verifying the domain was available I do not find any sites listed at that web address. What do I do from here?   What is the domain that you are trying to purchase?

  What does that mean “it’s hosted by godaddy.com” ? I need to buy it through that site or it’s taken?

  Hey there,

  It’s taken. Someone has already purchased the domain through Go Daddy. That is why you are unable to register it yourself.

  Maybe you can try a different domain such as slayedstyle.net?

  Is there anyway to obtain it once it’s been purchased ? Becuse when I google search or web search the address nothing comes up but the godaddy site and I feel like maybe it’s inactive…if not I will try .net or .co or something.

  It looks like it was newly renewed/registered, so the owner probably hasn’t connected the domain with his site yet. You could always contact the current owner and see if they are willing to sell the domain to you. It might come at a hefty price, however.

  Hey!

  .net and .org are popular TLDs to use if you’re not using .com.
