Domain Registration

When a domain is canceled, it typically takes 5-7 days for it to return to the public market. Can you sign up for a WordPress plan without waiting this period?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi there!
Yes, you can purchase a plan without a custom domain and register or connect it later on.
If you could give us some more details, we may be able to advise better :). -

Details help. In a previous thread (best to keep to one thread so all info is available) you said:
I deleted my domain from the previous service provider 3 days ago
What was the URL? Did you delete it shortly after purchase in which case it will be released in a few days. If you deleted it months/a year after purchase there is no guarentee it will return to the market.

website domain name http://www.ardalbedaya.com
the domain was registered on 9/22/2021 for a month and I did not renew the registration and remained in the waiting state for renewal or deletion until I deleted it on 11/16/2021 -
Hi there,
From what I can see ardalbedaya.com still shows as being registered at Ascio domains as stated here: https://gwhois.org/ardalbedaya.com+dns
I’m not sure I understand what you are trying to do. You wish to set up a site here on WordPress.com (instead of your current host) that uses the custom address of ardalbedaya.com, yes?
If so then you do not need to cancel ardalbedaya.com with your current registrar. Instead you can transfer it to your WordPress.com account from this page: https://wordpress.com/domains/add/use-my-domain/ardalbedaya.wordpress.com?initialQuery=ardalbedaya.com
You can ignore the pricing you see on that page, the transfer would be included for free with your purchase of Personal Plan Yearly that you have in your shopping cart currently.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

I tried to do the steps to transfer the domain to WordPress and when I do that it asks me
(For this setup you will need to log in to your current domain provider and go through a few steps.)
I have completely removed my site and domain from my previous service provider. -
Hi there,
I have completely removed my site and domain from my previous service provider.
That is not what I see reflected in the public WHOIS info for your domain here: https://gwhois.org/ardalbedaya.com+dns
We do not have any connection to Ascio domains, so I recommend that you reach out to them to confirm that the domain is still active.
This is important so I want to underscore that you DO NOT want to cancel your domain with Ascio. If you do you will not be able to transfer, and risk losing ownership.
Instead confirm that ardalbedaya.com is still active in your account at Ascio, and if it is not then you will want their help in recovering the domain and restoring it to active status. It is NOT possible to connect ardalbedaya.com to WordPress.com if it has been cancelled at Ascio.
Thanks!

Yes, it is already active, even the email associated with the same domain is working. But can I now transfer this domain or link it with WordPress? What do I do exactly? Transfer the domain or make a connection to it from WordPress.
Thanks for your help. -
Perfect, thanks for confirming.
You can add it here: https://wordpress.com/domains/add/use-my-domain/ardalbedaya.wordpress.com?initialQuery=ardalbedaya.com
Just follow the steps on your screen to get the transfer started. If you need a hand let us know what step you’re stuck on and we can take a closer look!
Thanks for rocking WordPress.com! :)

Ok, I will follow these steps,
but I have some questions, please.
When registering for a WordPress plan, does the transfer and registration of the domain require paying additional fees?
Also, will I get a unique email in the name of the private domain without additional fees, if yes, how many emails ?
I see that it is possible to register in WordPress plans for two years. Is it possible to register for four years, for example, or more?
Thank you very much for your clarification and assistance. -
When registering for a WordPress plan, does the transfer and registration of the domain require paying additional fees?
If you buy a yearly or two-yearly plan, one domain registration or domain transfer is included for free. If you transfer in a domain, that will also renew the domain for an additional year on top of its current term.
Also, will I get a unique email in the name of the private domain without additional fees, if yes, how many emails ?
We provide email forwarding for free, i.e. an email at your domain, that forwards to your personal email. This forwarding address is receive-only, i.e. you won’t be able to send emails from the forwarding address.
https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/email-forwarding/
If you want fully-hosted email, we offer that as an add-on service. You can buy our own in-house Professional email, or you can buy a subscription to Google’s G Suite from us. You can also set up email hosting somewhere else and connect that to your domain – there’s no cost on our end to connect a third-party email account, but you would have to pay the email provider directly.

I see that it is possible to register in WordPress plans for two years. Is it possible to register for four years, for example, or more?
We only offer one-year or two-year plans. If you wanted to purchase your plan for four years, you could do that by manually renewing the plan for another two years right after you buy it. However, the refund period will still be only 14 days from the date of payment. In other words, if you buy a two-year plan today, and then renew it for another two years, you’ll only receive a refund if you cancel within the next 14 days. If you decided to cancel after one year, you won’t be refunded for the remaining years.
Also note that renewing your plan will not also renew your domain. The transfer and the renewal that process triggers are included in your plan. But once the domain reaches its next renewal date, there will be an additional cost to renew it on top of the plan.

ok, but, I deleted my website from my previous provider , I don’t know who to contact to get the EPP code, how can I get it?
Can you help me.
Thank you. -
You’ll obtain the EPP code from the registrar that you currently have the domain under.
You’ll need to check their documentation or contact their support for specifics, but once you have that, you can finish the transfer to us by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
