  Hello Automattic..
  I believe my Domain xistowines.com ..is registered with you and has expired .
  I want to re register it .

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It looks like your domain expired over 2 months ago.

  I’ve tagged your post, so wait until staff gets back to you – they’ll see what can be done at this stage.

  Hi there,

  That domain expired on 23 November.

  Up to a few days ago you would still have been able to renew that domain from the Purchases page, albeit along with a $80 redemption fee.

  But by now the domain has passed through the redemption process already, and is awaiting deletion at the domain registry. It is not possible for us to recover the domain any more at this point.

  The domain should be released in the next few days, at which point you’ll be able to register it again as a new domain, provided someone else doesn’t buy it before you’re able to. Should that happen, there is no way for you to get that domain back unless the new owner would be willing to sell it back to you.

  I followed the process of transferring my domain. But at checkout I was requested to pay an annual fee. Though my plan includes a free transfer.

  Not really; I’d just check it every day. It’s usually released within about 5 days of its “pendingDelete” status.

  Your best bet going forward is to stay on top of renewals. We try to renew domains one month before they expire so we have time to resolve any issues if payments did not go through, and we send emails and what not about that as well. If you register the domain here again, be sure to watch for those each year.

  @ocollinsauthor paid plans come with a domain transfer. We don’t include them with free plans, though.
